We start off in the morning with a scenic countryside drive to Niah National Park (110 km) through oil palm plantations and local pepper farms and villages. On arrival at the Niah National Park, we will register at the park and then take the longboat ride at Pangkalan Lobang to cross the river where we will start off with a visit to the Niah Museum first. The prehistoric Niah Caves is famed for its role as one of the birthplaces of civilisation in Asia. The oldest human remains were found in Niah making the park one of the most important archaeological sites of the world. Tour of the cave will take you through the Great and Painted Caves as well as allowing you to witness the age-old remnants of bird’s nest harvesting equipment inside the cave (now a government controlled activity). Tour into the caves will take approximately 3 hours. Stop over at Niah Park canteen for a local lunch before we return to Miri. On the way, we will stop over at an Iban longhouse for a short visit. Arrive back at the hotel around 6.00pm NOTE Duration - 8 Hrs Departs Daily - 0830am * Overnight Stays are available at Niah * For late departures out of Miri, pick up time will be revised to accommodate (clients will be brought direct to airport)
* For arrivals into Miri and tour on the same day, we will proceed directly to the tour and return to Miri town for hotel check-in late evening.

To reach this destination we drive towards Bakong with a stop over for lunch. Our journey continues through the countryside, dotted by oil palm plantations, several longhouses and small villages to Sungoi Ulap. We then take a boat ride, which takes around 90 minutes before we arrive in Loagan Bunut territory around late afternoon. Try your luck at fishing! Dinner will be catch of the day. Next morning, we have an early start and cruise around the lake for bird watching. There is some interesting bird life in the early mornings! and you can witness them going about their morning rituals by the lake territory. Return to the chalet for breakfast and prepare for the return journey to back to Miri. NOTE Loose summer clothing, swimming wear, hat, sun block, lotion, insect repellent, flat walking shoes, 200 or 400 ASA films, and if staying overnight, bring torchlight personal toiletries.
